Creativity that builds confidence
Working with clay gives children and young people a calm, hands-on way to create, learn new skills and feel part of a community.
Creating with clay. Rebuilding confidence.
The Pottery Studio is one of UKR T&E’s flagship projects. Working with our community partner near Lviv, we are supporting the development of a sustainable ceramics programme for children, young people, staff, volunteers and the wider community.
It offers more than the opportunity to make ceramics. It brings together wellbeing, creative recovery, practical skills, confidence, companionship and long-term opportunity.
The project is inspired by Tom Knowles Jackson, an accomplished professional potter, studio maker and ceramicist, and developed by him in partnership with our community partner in Ukraine.
Working with clay gives children and young people a calm, hands-on way to create, learn new skills and feel part of a community.
We are planning involvement with British and international master potters and the wider British pottery community to support training, mentoring and creative exchange.
We are also planning liaison activities with UK schools, creating opportunities for shared creative work and educational exchange.
